The Mathematics Association of Tasmania 2021 Conference: Inspiring Agents of Change  

The 2021 MAT conference offers inspiring professional learning for teachers (K - 12) in an immersive day of workshops, key-note speeches, trade stalls, networking an sharing of ideas, on Saturday 4 September. The future of the Australian Curriculum and recent revisions will be explored in detail with Rachael Whitney-Smith (ACARA Mathematics Lead), including what the application of the key considerations might look like in the classroom at both primary and secondary level. On Friday night, Bruce Stack will deliver a keynote address on the role of teachers as agents of change in our community. 

On Friday 3 September, MAT is running an Early Career Day, inviting new mathematics educators to a comprehensive day of hands-on learning and exploration of innovative practices.

 

 

Friday 3 September - Early Career Teacher's Day

  9am - 4pm: Hands-on workshops

Friday 3 September - Conference

  5pm - 6.30pm: Keynote speech by Bruce Stack

  7.30pm onwards: Dinner at the Duke (192 Macquarie St.)

Saturday 4 September - Conference

  9am - 4pm:

  Keynote speech by Rachael Whitney-Smith (ACARA Mathematics Lead)

  Hands-on workshops, trade stalls, networking

Are you a teacher in a rural or remote school?

MAT offers bursaries covering some of the travel or accommodation costs, as well as waived conference fees for teachers working in rural and remote schools.
